Freight Rates Mobile & Ohio and Mississippi Central to points south


Illinois Central Railroad and Memphis & St. Louis Packet Co.’s Joint Special Tariff
Direct Trade with the South
Through the attention of Mr. Robert Forsythe, General Freight Agent of the Illinois Central railroad, we are enabled to publish the annexed tariff rates agreed upon by the Illinois Central, Mobile & Ohio, and the Mississippi Central Railroad.  This tariff takes effect on the 5th of September.  We are glad to see these steps taken for the encouragement and facility with the South.  Th attention of our merchants has been directed toward this subject for some time past, and we are certain they will unite with us in thanking the Superintendent of the Illinois Central, Mr. Arthur, and the Freight Agent, Mr. Forsythe, for their effort in this behalf.
