Academic works (link to Google Docs)

Some of the works I have written since starting graduate school.

"The Wayward Sisters: The Ratification of the Constitution in North Carolina and Rhode Island"  This was a brown bag seminar, presented to my fellow grad students, so the tone is light-hearted.  I wanted to explore the relationship between the United States, and the last two states to ratify the constitution, North Carolina and Rhode Island.

"The Economics of Coercion"a paper I delivered at the Fauquier County Historical Society in March 2010.  The paper examines the effect of secession and the changes in tariff policies in the period between 3 March 1861 and 15 April 1861.
